The Department of Computer Science was established in the year 2008. The college got affiliation for Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) in 2008 while BSc Computer Science programme was started in 2011
The courses are designed with the objective of equipping the students for the IT industry and for streamlining them for taking up higher education in computer science. The Department has been organizing different curricular and co-curricular activities aiming at the academic enrichment of the students and. Faculty
The department of Computer Science regularly organizes seminars, training programs, Industrial Visits and technical events for cultivation of learning and exposure to students. Mrs Smitha K.C is the Headed of the department.
The Department has well equipped computer lab with Wi-Fi connectivity .At present there are two labs – General Computing Lab and a complementary Lab. ICT enabled learning system enhances the teaching process of the department. The department offers complementary courses for BSc. Physics. The faculty of CS department handles papers in commerce department too. The department offers open course for various departments as per the curriculum.
The two-day National IT Fest ”TECHNOVANZA 2K16” held on 2016 feb 22 & 23 was a landmark event in the history of the department

Objectives
Upon successful completion of Bachelor of Computer Application & B.Sc Computer Science Program, students will be able to:
- To design, develop, document, and test software using current techniques. Students will understand the fundamentals of computer architecture and computing theory.
- Demonstrate proficiency in problem-solving techniques using the computer.
- Demonstrate proficiency in at least two high-level programming languages and two operating systems.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the analysis of complex problems and the synthesis of solutions to those problems.
